WELCOME TO LOUISVILLE

Historic waterfront town with a charming downtown and a wealth of riverfront and lakeside properties and activities.

The charming and historic small town of Louisville boasts a rich history and a beautiful natural setting on Fort Loudoun Lake’s southern shore.

Rumored to have been named in honor of the French King who visited the town in 1790, Louisville contains many historic properties and a downtown area included on the National Register of Historic Places. This storied heritage combined with vibrant modernity has seen the town’s population swell from around 750 people in 1990 to more than 4,000 by 2015.

Louisville’s convenient location has also made it an irresistible draw. The town enjoys excellent transport links, providing easy access to the nearby communities of Alcoa, Knoxville, Maryville, and Oak Ridge.

Louisville’s town government prides itself on delivering excellent services at the lowest possible cost, leading to a strong commitment for Louisville to remain a community without any property tax.
